About One Health Us

One Health Us is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health by reconnecting nature, food, and people.

Our work is grounded in a simple idea: health is how we live.

Yet many communities today are increasingly disconnected from the natural environments, food systems, and daily habits that support long-term well-being. At the same time, healthcare systems continue to focus more on treating illness than preventing it.

One Health Us was created to address this gap.

We engage partners and community leaders to reunite these systems in practical ways, helping communities build models that expand access to nature, strengthen local food systems, and make lifestyle-based healthcare more accessible and affordable.

One Health Us

Our Mission

One Health Us restores the connection between healthy nature, food, and people — and creates pathways for communities everywhere to do the same.

Our Vision

Communities across America where health is shaped by how we live, where the outdoors is recognized as essential health infrastructure, food supports both body and land, and lifestyle-based healthcare is accessible to everyone, so together we can thrive today and for generations to come.

Why It Matters

A more effective and sustainable approach.

Communities across the country are facing rising healthcare costs and declining health outcomes. Many lack access to green spaces, fresh and nutrient-rich food, and preventative care options that support long-term health. By addressing these challenges together, rather than in isolation, One Health Us is working alongside partners and communities to demonstrate a more effective and sustainable approach that improves health outcomes, reduces costs, and strengthens communities.

Co-Founder & Health Director, One Health Us

Brandon Spratt, Co-Founder and Health Director for One Health Us, works to integrate nature, food, and human health in communities for measurable outcome in each of those sectors. Trained as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Emory University, he works to integrate the conservation and food sectors into healthcare in the Boone County One Health Pilot. In this project, he is helping pioneer efforts to create a lifestyle medicine clinic in a public park where locally grown food and time in nature are core elements of the clinic. Brandon learned to love nature in the outdoors in his formative years fishing for crappie with his grandparents at Smithville Lake, north of Kansas City. Since then, he continues that legacy by avidly fishing, birding, and hiking in his free time.
